Residents in Williamsburg Settlement may soon have a new go-to destination for birthday celebrations, teacher gifts, office gatherings, and weekend desserts as plans move forward for a new Nothing Bundt Cakes location in northwest Harris County.

According to permit filings, a new Nothing Bundt Cakes bakery is planned at 24810 Morton Ranch Road, Suite 300, Katy, TX 77493. The project is listed under the facility name “RK Katy Park” and is expected to begin construction June 15, 2026, with completion projected for Sept. 15, 2026. The estimated construction cost is $297,000.

The project is described as a “1st generation take out cake store” spanning approximately 1,803 square feet.

For many Katy-area families, the arrival of Nothing Bundt Cakes represents more than another dessert shop opening nearby. The bakery chain has built a loyal following by focusing on celebration-centered treats that have become staples at birthdays, graduations, baby showers, school events, holidays, and neighborhood gatherings across Texas and beyond.

A Bakery Brand Built Around Celebrations

Nothing Bundt Cakes was founded in Las Vegas in 1997 by friends Dena Tripp and Debbie Shwetz, who originally baked bundt cakes for family and friends before demand quickly expanded into a business. The company grew by leaning into a simple concept: nostalgic, handcrafted-style cakes paired with polished presentation and consistent quality.

Over the years, the brand has expanded nationwide, becoming especially popular in suburban communities where families often look for easy, crowd-pleasing desserts for celebrations and special occasions.

Part of the bakery’s appeal comes from its recognizable cream cheese frosting design, which is piped in thick signature petals over each cake. The cakes are available in multiple sizes, from individually sized “Bundtinis” and personal “Bundtlets” to larger tiered cakes designed for parties and events.

The menu typically features flavors such as Chocolate Chocolate Chip, Red Velvet, White Chocolate Raspberry, Lemon, Confetti, Carrot, Snickerdoodle, and Classic Vanilla, along with rotating seasonal selections throughout the year.

In addition to cakes, many locations also offer candles, party décor, cards, and gift packaging designed to make celebrations easier for customers picking up desserts on the go.

Why the Brand Has Developed Such a Loyal Following

Unlike many modern dessert chains that focus heavily on trends or social media-driven novelty items, Nothing Bundt Cakes has built its reputation around consistency and familiarity.

Customers often associate the bakery with milestone moments — classroom celebrations, retirement parties, neighborhood events, and family dinners — creating an emotional connection that goes beyond dessert alone.

The company has also benefited from a broad customer base. Its smaller cake options appeal to individual customers looking for a quick treat, while larger cakes are commonly purchased for workplace celebrations, church functions, school staff appreciation events, and family gatherings.

That versatility has helped the bakery become a reliable choice for residents seeking desserts that feel both elevated and approachable.

What Happens Next

Construction is currently projected to begin in mid-June 2026, with completion anticipated by mid-September if timelines remain on schedule. Additional details about the location’s official opening date have not yet been announced.

For Katy-area residents, the new bakery could soon offer another nearby option for celebrations both large and small — from last-minute birthday cakes to treats shared around kitchen tables after school and weekend sports games.
