North Forest Thanks Neighbors and Supporters After National Night Out

North Forest  /
October 16 2026

North Forest residents filled the community clubhouse with conversation and neighbor-to-neighbor connection on Tuesday, October 6, during the neighborhood’s 2026 National Night Out gathering. The event ran from 5 to 8 p.m. at 318 Skywood Drive, where submitted photos show residents visiting around tables and gathering with firefighters beside a fire engine.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office included the North Forest CIA gathering on its 2026 National Night Out registration list. The evening also followed the community’s advance invitation for residents to spend time with neighbors and local first responders.

North Forest CIA’s post-event acknowledgments thanked the public safety participants, businesses, church, utility operator, volunteers and board members who supported the gathering. The association did not report an attendance total or provide a breakdown of what each sponsor contributed.

First Responders at the Clubhouse

Ponderosa Fire Department’s official activities calendar scheduled a Station 61 fire truck to visit the North Forest clubhouse from 5 to 7 p.m. The department’s participation is also documented in a submitted photograph of neighbors and firefighters beside an engine.

The association’s supporter list additionally names a constable’s office as a community participant. The supplied material does not identify individual officers or provide enough information to assign names to the people pictured.

National Night Out is an annual campaign intended to strengthen relationships between neighbors and public safety agencies. While most participating communities observe it in August, Texas and select areas hold their events on the first Tuesday in October, according to the National Association of Town Watch. Neighborhood gatherings often include visits from emergency personnel alongside opportunities for residents to meet one another outside an emergency situation.

Local Sponsors Recognized by North Forest

North Forest CIA thanked H2O, identified by the association as the neighborhood’s water operator, along with H-E-B, Sam’s Club, Home Depot, MHS Locksmith Service, Pools by Dallas, El Pibe and Hosanna Lutheran Church.

The acknowledgment records each organization as a sponsor but does not specify whether individual supporters provided food, supplies, services, prizes or financial assistance. Their inclusion is therefore limited to the support documented by the association.

The list reflects the mix of neighborhood institutions and area businesses that the association credited after the event, from a church and local service providers to major retailers serving families in the surrounding Houston area.

Volunteers Behind the Gathering

The association also recognized volunteers Diane, Roger, Josie, Silvia, Claudia, Julio and Sandy, along with board members Rosie, James, Jackie, David and Eva. Because the submitted list provides first names only, full names and individual roles are not assigned here.

The photographs preserve two views of the October 6 gathering: residents seated and standing around tables, and a group posing with firefighters beside an engine. The images do not establish a total head count or identify everyone who attended.
