New H-E-B Opens at Culebra and 211, Bringing Full-Service Grocery Destination to Far West San Antonio

January 13 2026

In a long-awaited addition to San Antonio’s far West Side, the brand-new H-E-B store at Culebra Road and Highway 211 officially opened its doors, serving as a one-stop destination for residents in the fast-growing area—including nearby communities in Lakehills, Mico, and Medina Lake.

Spanning 120,000 square feet, the Culebra & 211 H-E-B is designed to meet the everyday needs of local families while offering thoughtful touches that reflect the character of the surrounding community. The store boasts a full suite of signature departments and amenities that H-E-B shoppers across Texas have come to love, including curbside pickup, home delivery, a drive-thru pharmacy, and even a True Texas BBQ restaurant with its own drive-thru.

“Our store Partners are thrilled to finally open our doors to this amazing community,” said Beto Ardilla, General Manager of the new Culebra & 211 H-E-B. “This has been a highly anticipated store, and our Partners are ready to serve our customers with top-notch service, great selection, and a quality shopping experience.”

Community-Focused Amenities for West San Antonio

Located at 15489 Culebra Rd, San Antonio, TX 78253, the new store is open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., with the True Texas BBQ restaurant open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The grocery store was designed with sustainability and the Texas lifestyle in mind, including energy-efficient systems such as CO₂ refrigeration, LED lighting, and extensive native landscaping.

H-E-B’s Economic and Local Impact

The new location represents a $29 million investment in the region, with the project first filed in August 2024 and slated for completion in November 2025. The store employs more than 425 Partners, contributing to H-E-B’s total workforce of over 175,000 in Texas and Mexico. Job opportunities continue to be available through H-E-B Careers.

This opening marks yet another milestone for the San Antonio-based grocer, which celebrates its 120th anniversary this year. With over 455 locations across Texas and Mexico and annual sales surpassing $50 billion, H-E-B continues to lead the way in innovation, community outreach, and environmental responsibility.

For local shoppers searching for a “grocery store near Medina Lake,” “H-E-B Culebra Road hours,” or “True Texas BBQ San Antonio,” this new location is poised to become a trusted and convenient hub for everything from last-minute essentials to leisurely weekend grocery runs.

As the West Side continues to grow, the arrival of H-E-B at Culebra & 211 stands as a proud example of thoughtful development tailored to the needs of the San Antonio community.
