Navigating New Challenges: Ensuring Safe School Transportation in Hearthstone

As many people are aware of, Cy-Fair ISD has made cuts to the bus transportation for public schools in the entire district. Now, many parents are having to figure out how to get their children safely to and from school. Hearthstone is facing this issue, with bus service to Owens Elementary.
The Hearthstone Homeowners association is working closely with Constables in the neighborhood to make sure all children get to school safely. We ask everyone to keep an eye out on neighborhood streets, especially ones closest to Owens (and all schools for that matter) and please slow down.
This will be an adjustment for everyone, not just parents. There will be heavier traffic on the roads (wait until you see the car rider line down Sandalfoot this year). Also, kids and parents walking on foot to get to and from school. The hours of the heavier school traffic in the morning at and around Owens Elementary will be 8:00 AM - 8:45 AM and from 4:00 PM - 4:45 PM in the afternoon. School starts Monday, August 19th.
Parents of Owens Elementary who’s children are going to be walking to and from school: We are meeting in the conference room of Hearthstone Country Club on Tuesday, August 13th at 5:30 PM to discuss safety and create supervised walking groups. We welcome solutions, helpful advice and a watchful community.
