Memorial Hermann Primary Care Clinic Buildout Set to Begin Inside New Bridgeland Medical Office Building
As Bridgeland continues to grow into one of the Houston area's largest master-planned communities, another milestone in local healthcare is taking shape. Plans have been filed for the first interior buildout of a Memorial Hermann Medical Group Primary Care clinic within the Bridgeland Memorial Hermann Medical Office Building at 20819 Tuckerton Road, Suite 200 in Cypress.
According to state construction records, the $1.2 million renovation project will transform approximately 9,532 square feet of previously unfinished shell space into a primary care clinic. Construction is scheduled to begin November 2, 2026, with completion anticipated by June 1, 2027.
For Bridgeland residents and families throughout northwest Harris County, the project represents another step toward having more everyday healthcare services available closer to home—reducing travel time for routine appointments while continuing to expand the community's growing medical district.
First Permanent Primary Care Buildout Inside the Medical Office Building
The clinic will occupy space that was intentionally left unfinished when the medical office building was constructed, allowing it to be customized specifically for Memorial Hermann Medical Group Primary Care.
Once complete, the clinic will occupy nearly 10,000 square feet inside the medical office building located at the southwest corner of Tuckerton Road and Fry Road in Parkland Village.
Primary care practices serve as the foundation of preventive healthcare, offering routine wellness visits, annual physicals, chronic disease management, vaccinations, screenings and ongoing care for patients of all ages. Expanding access to these services within Bridgeland means residents can increasingly meet many of their healthcare needs without leaving the community.
Building on a Long-Term Healthcare Vision
The clinic buildout follows construction of the 51,000-square-foot Memorial Hermann medical office building, which broke ground in 2025 as Bridgeland developer Howard Hughes and Memorial Hermann launched a long-term partnership to expand healthcare access in Bridgeland.
Last year, Jim Carman, President of the Houston Region at Howard Hughes, said, "The introduction of Memorial Hermann's nationally recognized healthcare services in Bridgeland underscores our commitment of a fully integrated community—where quality medical care complements exceptional schools, workplaces, retail, and open space. As in The Woodlands, our long-term vision is focused on enhancing quality of life for current and future residents."
The medical office building was designed as the first phase of a much larger healthcare initiative planned for Bridgeland. According to Howard Hughes, the community's long-range vision includes up to 1 million square feet of medical facilities intended to serve an estimated 70,000 residents at full buildout.
At the time of the original announcement, Memorial Hermann said the facility would support a variety of healthcare services, including emergency care, primary care, pediatrics and sports medicine.
During the groundbreaking, Kyle Price, Senior Vice President, Service Lines at Memorial Hermann Health System, said, "Memorial Hermann's priority has always been to serve our growing population with the quality care they have come to expect from us. It's our pleasure that we can offer care to expanding communities like Bridgeland that can benefit the entire family while also being convenient and close to home."
Memorial Hermann Continues Expanding Community-Based Care
Memorial Hermann is one of the largest nonprofit health systems in Texas, operating 17 hospitals and more than 260 care delivery sites across Southeast Texas. The health system provides services ranging from primary and specialty care to emergency medicine, rehabilitation, imaging, surgery and urgent care, serving more than 1.8 million patient encounters annually.
Its community-based approach emphasizes bringing healthcare closer to where people live, allowing patients to access routine and preventive care without traveling to larger hospital campuses whenever possible.
The new primary care clinic complements other Memorial Hermann services already established in Bridgeland, including the Memorial Hermann-GoHealth Urgent Care that opened in Bridgeland Central.
Healthcare Growth Mirrors Bridgeland's Commercial Expansion
Healthcare has become one of several major components of Bridgeland's expanding commercial footprint.
In recent years, residents have seen the opening of H-E-B at Village Green at Bridgeland Central, along with new restaurants, retail businesses and professional office space. Nearby developments include One Bridgeland Green, Greater Houston's first mass timber office building, as well as additional dining and shopping destinations that continue to transform Bridgeland Central into a walkable mixed-use district.
The addition of a dedicated Memorial Hermann Medical Group Primary Care clinic further supports Howard Hughes' vision of creating a self-contained community where residents can live, work, shop, dine, recreate and receive healthcare within the same area.
What Happens Next
Construction records indicate work on the clinic is expected to begin this fall, with completion projected for June 2027. Once finished, the space will become one of the first permanent physician practices operating inside the Bridgeland Memorial Hermann Medical Office Building.
As additional medical tenants occupy the facility in the coming years, residents can expect the area's healthcare offerings to continue expanding alongside Bridgeland's residential and commercial growth.
