Meet the Candidates

Charles “Chas” Blair

Charles has lived in Lakes at NorthPointe for 16 years. He is semi-retired with 40 years of experience in the energy sector, service and manufacturing, operations management, budgeting, and P&L oversight. Charles is a certified motorcycle mechanic and served in the US Army in the 82nd airborne division. On why he believes he would be an asset to the Board of Directors:

“The community deserves proactive and involved Board members, and I intend to put in the time and effort it takes to be one. I am committed to being a principled, fiduciary, focused on responsible operations, improvement, upkeep, care, and maintenance of all common areas, and upholding, the deed restrictions, and guidelines for the long-term benefit of the community. For many of us, our homes are our largest investment. Our mutual duty as members of this association serves our common goals of maintaining the values of our largest asset and of creating a valued neighborhood."

Darshit Chokshi

Darshit has lived in Lakes at NorthPointe for almost 3 years. He is a chemical engineer with an MBA in finance. He worked in business development as the VP of finance, as well as residential and commercial property, mortgage brokerage, and is the owner of Aequitas Mortgage, Inc.

On why he believes he would be an asset to the Board of Directors:

“I bring an understanding of our bylaws, architectural guidelines, and have been on the architectural review committee at Lakes at NorthPointe. In the past, I have handled budgets and budget process, contract negotiations, vendor performance reviews, reserve study on assets, and worked as a financial analyst for a commercial real estate company. Above all, I love our community and our resident members and would serve our community as the next Board member with your support and your vote for me. I’m licensed by NMLS federal agency and save Texas as a mortgage broker, and I have a clean, checked background."

Tim Downing

Tim has lived in Lakes at NorthPointe for 13 years. He is a Boeing 777 pilot for United Airlines.

On why he believes he would be an asset to the Board of Directors:

"As a long time resident, I have watched the neighborhood grow and develop, and have a vested interest in seeing that it continues to do so in a positive, productive and lucrative manner. I have served in multiple committees at work. My longest tenure was with the professional standards committee, which provides conflict resolution between employees in an effort to resolve their issues before getting to human resources or upper management, which typically results in disciplinary action, or even termination. I think this skill would be useful in a Board of Directors setting."

Lynette Teresa Hunter

Lynette has lived in Lakes at NorthPointe since August 2006. She is retired from Walgreens after 22 years of retail in management, where she refined her banking and management skills, as well as customer service.

On why she believes she would be an asset to the Board of Directors:

"I interact with people throughout the community. I am a people person to all I meet - younger and older people. I enjoy the atmosphere where I live. I am known as the go-to mother in the community. I live across the street from the recreational center. I am open to help in the community."

David Quinn

David Quinn has lived in Lakes at NorthPointe for three years. He works for the railroad and has been employed for 19 years. Previously, David volunteered at the Houston Rodeo for 15 years. He has served on a summer league swim team Board, as well as a USA swimming official.

On why he believes he would be an asset to the Board of Directors:

"I am hands-on and willing to do the work to improve the neighborhood and solve issues. I was able to help the current Board by getting the KnockBox issue for the gated section fixed. I called the fire department, got the necessary information, and helped install the KnockBox. I was even able to get the fire department to come out to certify it, as well as check the other gates. This is a major neighborhood safety issue that I was able to help solve, thanks to a Facebook post. I am persistent and will do what it takes to get the right people moving towards a resolution."

Michelle Wilson

Michelle has lived in Lakes at NorthPointe for eight years. She is a teacher and has been teaching for 18 years.

On why she believes she would be an asset to the Board of Directors:

"I would be an asset to the Board because I am not only a resident of the neighborhood, I am also a teacher for our intermediate school. I want a thriving community for my family, as well as our community as a whole. As a teacher, I have spent years determining needs and working to solutions."
