As the 2024 Annual Meeting draws near, it’s time to learn more about the two candidates running for a position on the Lakes on Eldridge Community Association Board of Directors. With one open seat for a 3-year term, both Mike Lee and Roger Whorton have stepped forward to contribute their time and expertise to help shape the future of our community. Here’s a closer look at these two dedicated residents who are eager to bring their skills and experience to the Board.
Mike Lee
Mike Lee has called Lakes on Eldridge home since 1995, and with his recent retirement from Chevron, he’s looking forward to giving back to the community that has been such an important part of his life. Mike is married with three children and brings over 35 years of experience in leadership roles in the oil and gas industry, including as a technology manager and team lead. In addition to his professional career, Mike teaches summer courses at Texas A&M University, where he shares his expertise in offshore design and project management.
Mike's goals for the community are simple but important: He wants to help ensure that our HOA remains financially strong, that our homes and neighborhood stay attractive, and that our community continues to be a safe, active place for all of us to enjoy. His combination of leadership, teaching experience, and long-time commitment to Lakes on Eldridge make him a great candidate for the Board.
Roger Whorton
Roger Whorton, a semi-retired small business owner, has been a proud resident of Lakes on Eldridge for 23 years. He’s 67 years old, married, and has deep roots in our community. With over 30 years of experience working with contractors, vendors, and managing finances, Roger brings a wealth of knowledge that will benefit the neighborhood.
Roger's focus as a Board member would be to continue improving our community while making sure we manage our current resources wisely. He has a strong background in accounting and risk management and is dedicated to helping our community thrive by carefully overseeing revenue and assessments. Roger’s experience and long-time residency make him a solid choice for anyone looking for a steady, responsible leader on the Board.
