Meet the Cy-Fair ISD Student of the Week: Lamkin Elementary Student Brings Positivity and Big Dreams to First Grade

May 13 2025

First grade student Tayler Zaras is making a cheerful impact at Lamkin Elementary School, earning praise from her teachers as a positive and inspiring young learner. At just seven years old, Tayler has already achieved academic milestones while bringing warmth and personality to her classroom and beyond.

Recently recognized as Cypress-Fairbanks ISD’s Student of the Week, Tayler stood out for her upbeat attitude and impressive performance in the classroom, including a perfect score on a math test—an accomplishment she proudly adds to her growing list of achievements.

But it’s not just numbers that Tayler enjoys. When asked about her favorite subject, she shared, “My favorite class is art because I like to draw a lot!” This budding artist finds joy in creativity and expression, a passion that carries over into her free time.

After school, Tayler enjoys relaxing in the comfort of home. “I like to change into comfortable clothes and watch my phone or play with my three dogs,” she said, highlighting just how much she cherishes her furry companions and downtime with her family. Her sense of fun extends to technology too, as she shared, “Snapchat because I like all of the different filters. I use them on my brother and my grandma.”

When it comes to music and movies, Tayler’s favorites reflect her playful and vibrant personality. Her favorite song? “Roar by Katy Perry,” a fitting anthem for such a spirited and confident young girl. And her favorite movie is Sonic 3, which introduced a new pink character. “There is a new character that is pink and I love pink,” she said with excitement.

Tayler already has big dreams for her future, wrapped in a touch of humor and honesty. “I want to be a police officer so I can drive around and eat doughnuts. I love doughnuts," she said.

What matters most to this young achiever? “My dogs, my grandma and my mom,” she said. Tayler’s heart shines just as brightly as her academic and creative talents, making her a cherished member of the Lamkin Elementary community.

Whether she’s chatting about her outfits—“I love talking about what I wear!”—or lighting up a room with her smile, Tayler Zaras is truly a student to watch.
