Make a Splash with the Bear Creek Barracudas Swim Team
Calling all young swimmers! Registration is now open for the Bear Creek Barracudas swim team, offering an exciting opportunity to dive into the world of competitive swimming. With over 25 years of history, the Bear Creek Swim Team (BCST) has a proud tradition of fostering both individual skill development and team camaraderie.
As a proud member of the Northwest Aquatic League (NWAL), the BCST welcomes swimmers aged 5 to 18 years old from Bear Creek and neighboring communities without NWAL swim teams. Led by dedicated coaches and volunteers, the team is committed to helping swimmers of all abilities reach their full potential while cultivating a supportive team environment.
The swim season kicks off in mid-April and spans approximately 10 weeks, providing ample opportunities for swimmers to hone their skills and showcase their talents. Practice sessions are held five days a week, with schedules tailored to each swimmer's skill level and availability. Whether it's after-school sessions or morning practices during the summer months, dedicated training is key to individual and team success.
But the excitement doesn't stop there! Saturday mornings come alive with thrilling swim meets, where Barracudas take on competitors from across the league. From mid-May to mid-June, swimmers have the chance to test their skills and race towards victory in a series of exhilarating competitions. Optional invitational meets offer additional opportunities for swimmers to challenge themselves and strive for personal bests.
To kick off the season, the team hosts a Mock Meet, providing swimmers with the opportunity to record official times and acclimate to the excitement of competitive swimming. This event also serves as a valuable introduction for new 'Cuda families, offering a glimpse into the thrilling world of swim meets.
