Main Street Market Brings Local Farmers, Makers and Small Businesses to Downtown Conroe

Cielo, Granger Pines  /
August 28 2026

For residents looking to shop local and spend a Saturday morning downtown, Main Street Market in Conroe offers a mix of fresh food, handmade goods and small-business finds in one walkable location.

Held on the second and fourth Saturday of the month, the market is hosted at 301 N. Thompson Street, Conroe, TX 77301, in front of the Montgomery County Courthouse.

A Local Market With a Downtown Conroe Following

Main Street Market launched in 2021 and has grown into a familiar gathering place for farmers, food producers, artisans and independent businesses from across Conroe and Montgomery County.

Vendor selections vary by market, but shoppers may find fresh produce, locally raised meat, baked goods, honey, coffee, flowers, plants, jewelry, soaps, pet products and other handcrafted items.

For many vendors, the market is more than a weekend sales opportunity. It gives small businesses a place to meet customers face-to-face, build a following and introduce products to people who may not otherwise discover them.

Main Street Market Returned After a Brief Closure

The market faced an uncertain future earlier in 2026 after organizers announced plans to end operations following changes to City of Conroe event policies and street-closure fees.

Main Street Market later returned to Downtown Conroe after the Conroe City Council temporarily reduced the applicable street-closure fee while officials continued reviewing the policy.

The return brought vendors and shoppers back together and gave local businesses another opportunity to connect directly with the community.

Why Shopping Local Matters

For residents searching for a farmers market in Conroe, local produce near Conroe or things to do in Downtown Conroe, Main Street Market offers a simple way to support the local economy.

A purchase from a farmer, baker or artisan can directly support a nearby family-owned business, while bringing more foot traffic into Downtown Conroe restaurants, shops and other small businesses.

There is also a social side to the market. Shoppers often come for groceries or handmade goods but stay to visit with vendors, run into neighbors and discover businesses they did not know were nearby.

Shoppers should check the official Main Street Market website or Facebook page for the latest dates and hours before heading downtown.

For longtime customers, the market’s return offers another chance to support familiar vendors. For newcomers, it is an easy way to discover what Conroe-area farmers, makers and entrepreneurs are producing close to home.
