Lytle to Celebrate 75 Years with Homecoming Night Parade, Live Music and Downtown Block Party on September 19

June 03 2026

Residents, alumni, families and visitors will have a unique opportunity to celebrate both community tradition and local history this fall as the City of Lytle hosts its 2026 Homecoming Night Parade alongside a major celebration marking the city's 75th anniversary of incorporation.

Scheduled for Saturday, September 19, 2026, the event will transform downtown Lytle into a hub of music, entertainment, hometown pride and community connection. The celebration is expected to draw residents from across Atascosa County and surrounding South Texas communities for an evening that honors Lytle's past while looking ahead to its future.

For many residents, Homecoming is already one of the most anticipated events of the year. This year's festivities will carry added significance as the city commemorates 75 years since its incorporation, creating what organizers describe as a once-in-a-generation celebration.

Why This Celebration Matters to Lytle

Community events often serve as milestones that bring neighbors together, strengthen local identity and showcase the people and businesses that help communities thrive. The 2026 celebration combines school spirit, civic pride and economic activity in a way that highlights what makes Lytle unique.

The event is designed to support local organizations, provide opportunities for small businesses and vendors, and create lasting memories for families while celebrating the city's rich history and continued growth.

Residents are encouraged to attend the Homecoming festivities and remain downtown for an evening filled with entertainment, food and community engagement.

Night Parade Returns to Main Street

A longtime crowd favorite, the Lytle Homecoming Night Parade will once again light up Main Street beginning at 8 p.m.

The illuminated parade features decorated floats, community organizations, local participants and school spirit displayed against the backdrop of downtown Lytle after dark. The nighttime format has become one of the area's most popular community traditions, drawing spectators from throughout the region.

Individuals and organizations interested in participating in the parade can find registration information and event rules through the City of Lytle. Completed registration forms may be submitted via email to lytleevents@lytletx.org

Cumbia Favorites Take the Stage

Attendees can also enjoy a lively cumbia performance featuring accordion, congas, bass, saxophone, timbales and guitar, delivering classic and contemporary Latin rhythms that invite audiences to dance and celebrate together.

Throughout downtown, visitors will find local vendors, food trucks, shopping opportunities and family-friendly entertainment designed to appeal to all ages.

Following the parade, the celebration will continue with a downtown block party featuring music, community gathering spaces and activities that keep the festivities going late into the evening.

Opportunities for Local Vendors

Businesses, artisans, nonprofit organizations and entrepreneurs still have an opportunity to participate in the event.

Vendor setup is scheduled from noon to 2:30 p.m., with all booths required to be fully operational by 2:30 p.m. Organizers expect significant attendance, providing vendors with a chance to connect directly with residents and visitors during one of the city's largest annual gatherings.

Vendor registration remains open through August 17. Interested vendors can contact Leann at 210-705-3400 for additional information or registration details.

Celebrating 75 Years of Community

Founded on strong community values, Lytle has grown significantly over the past seven decades while maintaining the small-town character that residents cherish.

The 75th Anniversary Celebration serves as an opportunity to recognize the people, businesses, schools and organizations that have shaped the city's history. It also provides a chance for newer residents to learn more about the community's heritage while participating in a celebration focused on connection and civic pride.

Additional announcements regarding entertainment, sponsorship opportunities and event activities are expected in the coming months.
