Local High School AFJROTC Units Earn 2022-2023 Organization AwardsÂ
The Air Force JROTC units from Cypress Springs (TX-20016), Cypress Ridge (TX-20028), Cy-Fair (TX-20057), Langham Creek (TX-20061) and Cypress Creek (TX-20102) high schools were among units across the United States to receive the 2022-2023 Distinguished Unit Award, as announced by the AFJROTC Headquarters.
In addition, units at Cypress Falls (TX-20003), Jersey Village (TX-20017) and Cypress Woods (TX-20091) high schools earned an Outstanding Organization Award.
Jersey Village High School Air Force JROTC Unit TX-20017 joined units from Cypress Falls and Cypress Woods high schools in earning the 2022-2023 Outstanding Organization Award. These annual awards given by the Department of the Air Force recognize units and cadets who have distinguished themselves among their peers through achievements and contributions to their communities.
The Distinguished Unit Award recognizes Air Force JROTC units that have performed well above and beyond normal expectations, and that have distinguished themselves through outstanding service to their school and community while meeting the Air Force JROTC development mission for America. The cadets earn a ribbon and the unit receives a commendation letter.
The Outstanding Organization Award recognizes a unit selected by AFJROTC Headquarters for its contributions to school and community. The cadets earn a ribbon and the unit receives a commendation letter.
Cypress Springs High School Air Force JROTC Unit TX-20016 joined four other CFISD united in receiving the 2022-2023 Distinguished Unit Award.
