Houston are families are already gearing up for the start of a new school year, and Texas Children’s Health Plan is stepping in to help with an all-in-one community event focused on wellness, resources, and fun—the Back-to-School Health Fair.

What to Expect
This free community event offers resources to keep kids healthy and ready to learn:

Healthy Hub Stations: Immunizations* and health screenings, including vision, dental, glucose, and blood pressure checks, are available to qualifying children.

Baby Depot Area: Learn about pregnancy and postpartum health, Well-Child Checkups, and receive free diapers for babies present.

School Supplies: Free backpacks and school essentials for children attending the event.*

Application Assistance: Get support with Medicaid and CHIP coverage applications and renewals.

Family Fun: Enjoy face painting, community resources, giveaways, and family-centered activities.
Important Notes

Immunizations: Vaccines are provided through the Texas Vaccines for Children program and are available for uninsured children, children with insurance that does not cover vaccines, or Medicaid recipients. Appointments are required by calling 832-824-6355, and parents should bring their child’s immunization records. For eligibility questions, call 832-372-9871.

First-Come, First-Served: Health screenings, diapers, backpacks, and giveaways are available while supplies last. Children must be present to receive backpacks and health services. Pregnant women or infants must be present to receive diapers.

Parent/Guardian Required: All minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
This event is weather permitting.
