For Klein ISD families, the latest state accountability results offer a broader look at how local schools are progressing — and where students are gaining ground as they prepare for life after graduation.

Klein ISD earned an overall accountability score of 88 for 2026, marking the district’s fourth consecutive year of academic growth since the Texas Education Agency reset its accountability system with more rigorous performance standards in 2023. The district has now climbed eight points in four years, from an 80 in 2023 to 84 in 2024, 86 in 2025 and 88 in 2026.

The newest Texas school accountability ratings also show gains in student achievement, academic growth and relative performance, while Klein ISD students outperformed both regional and statewide results in meeting grade-level expectations across all tested subjects, according to the district.

For parents weighing school performance, students looking ahead to graduation and homeowners watching the continued evolution of their community, the upward trend offers another measure of how Klein ISD schools are performing as the area continues to grow.

“These results are something our entire Klein Family can celebrate,” Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown said. “They reflect meaningful academic growth and the incredible determination of the people behind our year-over-year gains. I could not be more proud of what our dedicated educators and support staff, engaged families, and hardworking students continue to achieve by working together.”

Four of Five Klein ISD High Schools Earn A Ratings

Some of the district’s most notable 2026 accountability gains came at the high school level, where every Klein ISD comprehensive high school improved its overall score from 2025.

Four of the district’s five comprehensive high schools earned an overall A rating:

• Klein High School: 94 in 2026, up from 92 in 2025
• Klein Cain High School: 93, up from 87
• Klein Collins High School: 93, up from 88
• Klein Forest High School: 89, up from 81
• Klein Oak High School: 94, up from 90

Klein Forest recorded the largest year-over-year gain among the five, improving eight points to an 89 and earning a B rating. Klein Cain followed with a six-point increase, while Klein Collins gained five points, Klein Oak increased four points and Klein High rose two points.

The high school results are particularly significant for families because accountability ratings combine several measures of campus performance and can help provide a snapshot of student achievement and academic progress.

College, Career and Military Readiness Scores Climb Across Klein ISD

Klein ISD also reported strong results in College, Career and Military Readiness, commonly known as CCMR — a state accountability measure that looks at how well high schools are preparing students for options after graduation.

All five Klein ISD comprehensive high schools earned an A in CCMR for 2026.

Klein High increased from 95 in 2025 to 98 in 2026. Klein Cain rose from 91 to 98, while Klein Collins moved from 96 to 99. Klein Oak improved from 90 to 98.

Klein Forest recorded the biggest CCMR jump, climbing from 79 in 2025 to 96 in 2026.

Those numbers speak to more than a campus rating. College, Career and Military Readiness can include indicators tied to college preparation, career credentials and other postsecondary pathways — areas that can directly influence what options students have available when they leave high school.

“The ongoing advancement in college, career, and military readiness is incredibly significant as it reflects both current student achievement and future preparedness,” McGown said. “I am deeply grateful for the persistence and collective effort of our Klein Family, as we remain committed to ensuring every student is challenged and equipped for success beyond graduation.”

What Klein ISD’s 2026 Ratings Mean for Local Families

Accountability scores are only one measure of a school district, but the four-year trajectory provides families with a clear point of comparison.

Since the TEA accountability system was reset in 2023, Klein ISD’s overall rating has moved steadily upward:

• 2023: 80
• 2024: 84
• 2025: 86
• 2026: 88

District officials attribute the continued gains to consistent instructional priorities, challenging and engaging curriculum, and educators focused on helping students make measurable academic progress.

For the Klein community, the results also offer a look at how local schools are responding to higher state standards while preparing students for college, careers, the military and other opportunities after graduation.

With four A-rated high schools, improvement at every comprehensive high school and strong CCMR performance across all five campuses, the 2026 results add another year to a pattern of academic growth that began with the accountability reset in 2023.
