Kleb, Klein Intermediate and Mahaffey Earn National Model PLC Recognition
Three Klein ISD campuses—Kleb Intermediate, Klein Intermediate and Mahaffey Elementary—have earned Model Professional Learning Community at Work recognition for the way their educators collaborate to support student learning.
The campuses were honored at the district’s September board meeting. For Kleb Intermediate, this is its second Model PLC recognition.
What the recognition means
A professional learning community organizes teachers around shared responsibility for student progress. Educators work together, examine learning data and adjust instruction and support as students’ needs become clearer.
The national Model PLC designation recognizes schools that put those practices into systems intended to help every student succeed. The focus extends beyond a single classroom or individual award to how a campus works together.
Kleb, Klein Intermediate and Mahaffey join eight previously recognized Klein ISD campuses: Benignus Elementary, Klein High School, Krahn Elementary, Krimmel Intermediate, Metzler Elementary, Nitsch Elementary, Theiss Elementary and Zwink Elementary.
The district’s September 22 recognition story includes the three campuses and their school leaders.
