For King Crossing families hoping to make the most of the final stretch of summer, an unexpected closure of the neighborhood pool is understandably disappointing. The community’s HOA Board says it is now working to address several items cited during a recent county inspection while also requesting a meeting with county officials to better understand the findings.

The closure marks the second consecutive year that an inspection has interrupted pool operations, according to a message shared with King Crossing residents by a member of the HOA Board.

County Inspection Leads to Temporary King Crossing Pool Closure

According to the update, the HOA had attempted to have this year’s pool inspection completed before opening day following an unexpected inspection last year. The county instead conducted its inspection this week and shut the pool down again.

The issues cited this year, according to the HOA, involve missing signage at the splash pad, erosion in a flower bed and fencing concerns near an electrical/AT&T box.

Importantly, the HOA said most of those locations have remained unchanged since the King Crossing pool was originally constructed, with the exception of the erosion. The Board is questioning why some of those concerns were not identified during last year’s inspection.

Last year involved separate fencing issues, according to the HOA. Those items were corrected at the time, allowing the pool to reopen.

HOA Says Repairs Are Already Underway

For residents, the biggest question is simple: When will the King Crossing pool reopen?

At this point, the HOA has not announced a reopening date.

The Board says it is working to correct the cited items as quickly as possible and is also seeking a meeting with county representatives to discuss the inspection findings and determine why certain issues were not addressed during the previous inspection.

That distinction matters for families who regularly use the neighborhood pool, splash pad and surrounding amenities. Although the closure is temporary, the HOA board is working towards long-term resolution.

"We know this is disappointing, and we’re sorry it’s outside of our control. We’ll share another update as soon as we have a clearer timeline for opening back up. Thank you for your patience," read the statement.

What King Crossing Residents Should Know Next

For now, King Crossing residents should consider the community pool closed until the HOA announces otherwise. The Board has not provided an estimated reopening date, and the timing will likely depend on completion of the required corrections and any follow-up needed with county officials.

The encouraging piece for residents is that the HOA says work on the cited items is already underway rather than awaiting a later board decision or planning process.
