Katy’s HITTA Table Tennis Academy Expands to 28,000 Sq Ft, New Facility Opens in July 2025
When the Houston International Table Tennis Academy (HITTA) first opened its doors in 2016, it was a modest operation tucked into a shopping center on Mason Road. Over the years, it quietly evolved into one of the most respected training hubs for table tennis in the country, drawing in students from across the Houston area and even from Latin America. Now, the next chapter has begun.
Earlier this year, in February 2025, HITTA announced it would be expanding into a brand-new 28,000-square-foot facility just a few blocks away. That new space, located at 923 Mason Road, is set to officially open in July 2025.
The expansion comes in response to a steady surge in interest following the pandemic. With more students, especially among competitive junior players, the previous 12,000-square-foot facility at 510 Mason Road had simply reached its limits.
More Than Just a Sports Facility
The new facility more than doubles the space of HITTA’s original home. It was designed with flexibility and community use in mind. The academy will offer over 40 tables for training, a viewing area with seating for more than 200 spectators, and the capacity to host both national and international tournaments. There’s also a strong focus on families, with after-school academic programs that run alongside table tennis training sessions.

“This will simply be the largest full-time table tennis facility in the United States,” the academy shared during its February announcement. “We hope you will join us in this exciting new chapter of HITTA.”
A Local Club with a Global Reach
While HITTA is known for producing junior national team players, its mission extends beyond high-performance training. The academy has built a community of beginners, hobbyists, and families looking for a welcoming and active space. That inclusive approach has helped cement HITTA’s place in Katy’s growing youth sports culture.
The club is open every night except Wednesday for open play, where players can find a table, challenge others, or bring a partner. Sessions are $15 each or $40 for a monthly unlimited membership. New visitors are encouraged to bring a paddle and ball, though extras are available at the front desk.
Promotions and Programming Ahead
Although the facility is now open, HITTA is continuing its celebration with a series of "New Chapter Promotions" to engage both new and longtime members. More announcements are expected in the lead-up to the summer months.
