Katy Wolf Pack Launches 2025 Swim Season at Williamsburg Settlement Pool
With eager smiles, determined strokes, and the unmistakable energy of a new season, the Katy Wolf Pack Aquatics Team began its 2025 swim practices on Monday, July 14. The team—part of Special Olympics Texas—will hold weekly sessions at the Williamsburg Settlement neighborhood pool, marking the second summer the community has welcomed them with open arms.
The Katy Wolf Pack serves individuals with intellectual disabilities from Katy and surrounding areas, offering not only aquatics but a wide range of sports including softball, basketball, bocce ball, track and field, golf, bowling, soccer, and cheer. The program aims to promote inclusion, health, and achievement through year-round athletic training and competition.

This season’s swim practices will take place over 10 consecutive Monday evenings, with one date moved to Wednesday to accommodate Labor Day. The team is contributing a nominal fee for use of the neighborhood pool—an arrangement that reflects both logistical fairness and a broader sense of community collaboration. Williamsburg Settlement HOA’s continued support has made it possible for the team to safely train in an outdoor setting close to home.
Special Olympics Texas is part of a global movement that serves more than 4.4 million athletes in 170 countries. In Texas alone, over 55,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities participate in sports programming designed to foster self-confidence, social connection, and physical wellness. The Katy Wolf Pack is one of many local teams helping to fulfill that mission—one practice, one friendship, and one personal best at a time.

For athletes, these sessions are more than just practice. They offer structure, purpose, and a space where everyone is seen for their abilities rather than their limitations. The volunteer coaches behind the Wolf Pack emphasize teamwork, sportsmanship, and resilience—values that echo through every lane of the pool.
As the sun sets over Williamsburg Settlement each Monday evening, neighbors will once again witness a powerful expression of what community support looks like in action. The season will culminate in regional swim competitions this fall, but for now, the focus is on growth, inclusion, and joy—both in and out of the water.
