Applications are officially open now through February 15, 2026, with $125,000 in scholarship funds ready to be awarded to multiple recipients.
Each year, this community-driven scholarship initiative supports graduating Katy ISD seniors who plan to continue their education at a two- or four-year college, vocational school, technical institute, or trade program. The scholarships range from $2,500 to $10,000, providing meaningful financial assistance to students who demonstrate both academic determination and financial need.
To be eligible, applicants must:

- Plan to attend a college, university, or accredited trade or technical school
- Demonstrate financial need
- Submit a complete and accurate online application between November 15, 2025, and February 15, 2026
- Include an official transcript
- Submit two short essays addressing financial need and community service
Applications are available online at katyrotary.com, and all materials must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on February 15. A Legacy of Service and Support in Katy
The Rotary Club of Katy has long been a force for good in the local community. Since 2013, the club has awarded $771,500 in scholarships to 222 students, fueled entirely by proceeds from beloved local events like the Katy Triathlon, Katy Rice Harvest Festival, and Wild West Brewfest. In 2025 alone, 23 Katy ISD seniors were honored with scholarships totaling $125,000 at a celebratory banquet that brought together families, educators, and community leaders.
Formed in 1946, the Rotary Club of Katy is part of a global network of more than 32,000 clubs under Rotary International, with a shared mission of service above self. The club includes over 80 local professionals and community leaders who meet weekly to plan service initiatives and fundraising efforts aimed at creating lasting impact—both locally and around the world.
Rotary’s core values, embodied in the Four-Way Test, guide every initiative: Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build goodwill and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
These guiding principles are especially evident in the scholarship program, which doesn’t just reward academic performance—it also seeks students who display leadership, integrity, and a desire to give back to their community.
Fueling Education Through Community Events
Scholarship funding is made possible thanks to the tremendous community support for three signature Rotary events:
- Wild West Brewfest – Returns March 26–28, 2026 at Typhoon Texas (details here)
- Katy Triathlon – Returns August 2026
- Katy Rice Harvest Festival – Returns October 2026

All proceeds from the Katy Triathlon and 50% of the funds from the Katy Rice Harvest Festival go directly to support scholarships. The remainder, along with Brewfest funds, helps support a variety of local nonprofits and service projects.
