Katy Manor’s August Constable Report: Patrol Checks Make Up Most of 1,759 Service Events
Katy Manor’s August 2026 constable report records 1,759 call-for-service events, with most activity consisting of self-initiated patrol work rather than reported crimes. Sgt. C. Seidel of Harris County Constable Precinct 5 describes that work as contract, park and building checks, visibility patrols and traffic initiatives.
That distinction gives residents a more useful reading of the total: it is a measure of service activity, not a count of crimes. The report lists 17 reports and no arrests for the month, along with 31 meet-the-citizen contacts and 31 vacation-watch checks.
Calls and Incidents in the Report
Property-related entries include two theft calls, one criminal-mischief entry and two fraudulent-use-of-identification entries, both described as scams. The report lists no motor-vehicle burglaries, stolen vehicles or credit-card-abuse entries.
Other recorded activity includes nine family disturbances, seven welfare checks and 12 suspicious-person or suspicious-vehicle calls. Three mental-health calls included two emergency detention orders. Of three missing-person calls, the report says one involved an actual missing person who was found.
The report also lists one entry under each of the categories “Assault Sex Child” and “Indecency with a Child.” It supplies no case narratives or outcomes for those entries; the category counts should not be read as findings of guilt.
Traffic, Alarms and Routine Checks
Deputies recorded 17 traffic stops, including stops from Traffic Motor Units’ initiatives. The report lists four crashes—three minor and one major—along with 12 residential alarms, two open-door or window calls, two vehicles stickered and one traffic hazard. A single drone deployment was identified as a training flight.
Vacation Watch and Crime Tips
Seidel encouraged residents to continue using Precinct 5’s Vacation Watch program. Residents can submit a request through the constable’s website when planning to be away.
The office also provides an online crime-tip form for information about possible criminal activity. Precinct 5 dispatch can be reached at 281-463-6666; call 911 for an emergency. Follow My Neighborhood News for Katy Manor safety notices and community updates.
