Katy ISD to Host Summer Job Fair for Operations Team Positions on July 13

Katy ISD is set to host a Summer Operations Job Fair on Saturday, July 13 from 9:00 -11:00 AM at Leonard Merrell Center, located at 6301 South Stadium Lane, Katy, TX 77494. The district aims to attract talented professionals to fill various positions within its operations team, including Bus Drivers, Custodial Workers, General Maintenance Staff, Grounds Crew, and Security Guards.
Katy ISD currently boasts a large operational fleet comprising of 436 regular needs buses and 271 special needs buses. These, in addition to nearly 273 support vehicles, form an essential part of the district's transportation infrastructure. According to School Bus Fleet Magazine, Katy ISD's school bus route fleet ranks 65th largest across the U.S and seventh-largest in the State of Texas.
Every school day, Katy ISD oversees the transportation of approximately 25,000 students during both the morning and afternoon shifts. There are around 255 regular education bus routes with about 7,500 stops and 128 special needs routes with approximately 1,600 stops, all managed by the dedicated staff of the district's Transportation Department.
"Our Operations team is essential to the success of our school district," said Ted Vierling, Chief Operations Officer. "These dedicated staff members keep our schools safe and inviting, prepare and provide healthy meals, and ensure that our students are safely transported to and from school each day."
