Katy ISD Honors 2024–2025 Volunteers of the Year, Celebrating 900,000+ Hours of Service

May 07 2025

In a heartfelt celebration of community spirit and dedication, Katy ISD announced its 2024–2025 Volunteers of the Year during the annual Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS) Celebration held on May 2. The event honored the thousands of individuals who dedicate their time and energy to enhancing the lives of Katy ISD students and staff.

This year, Katy ISD volunteers collectively contributed more than 900,000 hours of service across the district—a milestone that reflects the deep-rooted community engagement and the strong support system that fuels student success in one of Texas’s fastest-growing school districts.

“This generous contribution of time makes a lasting impact on our schools and community,” district leaders emphasized.

Celebrating Volunteers Who Go Above and Beyond

More than 1,000 volunteers attended the celebration, which featured a keynote address from FOX 26 news anchor Rashi Vats, a well-known community advocate and proud Katy ISD volunteer. Guests were treated to student-led performances, including appearances by the Katy High School Drum Line, Tompkins High School SOUNDFX Choir, Memorial Parkway Junior High Mixed Choir, and cheer squads from all 10 Katy ISD high schools.

One of the most anticipated moments of the evening came as Katy ISD principals took the stage to recognize individual Volunteers of the Year from each campus. From elementary schools to high schools, each honoree was spotlighted for their outstanding commitment, compassion, and consistent presence on campus.
