Katy ISD Board Meeting Set for October 27: Public Encouraged to Attend, Watch Online, or Speak During Open Forum

Katy ISD community members are invited to attend or tune in to the upcoming Board of Trustees meeting scheduled for Monday, October 27, 2025, at the Katy ISD Education Support Complex Board Room, located at 6301 S Stadium Ln, Katy, TX 77494. With topics ranging from district finances to policy updates, this regular board meeting offers valuable insights into decisions shaping local schools.

For those unable to attend in person, Katy ISD provides a livestream and recorded archive of the meeting in accordance with Board Policy BE (LEGAL) and BE (LOCAL). The livestream will be accessible by approximately 5:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting at katyisd.org/board/board/board-meeting-videos. A video and audio recording will also be archived on the site within seven days and kept online for at least two years, giving residents plenty of time to catch up on key discussions.

Speak During Open Forum: Sign-Up Details

Community members who wish to address the Board during the Open Forum portion of the meeting have the opportunity to do so—but must sign up in advance.

To participate, send an email to publicspeakers@katyisd.org no later than 2:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting. The email must include:

  • Full name and mailing address
  • The topic of discussion
  • Agenda item number(s) (if applicable)
  • Whether you reside in Katy ISD
  • Whether you have children enrolled in Katy ISD schools

Only speakers who submit complete information by the deadline will be called to speak during the public comment portion, which begins at approximately 5:00 p.m. in the boardroom.

Public Forum Guidelines

The Katy ISD Board has established specific guidelines to ensure a respectful and efficient Open Forum:

  • A maximum of 30 minutes is allotted, with up to 3 minutes per speaker
  • Audiovisuals, posters, and displays are not permitted.
  • Written materials (non-confidential) can be shared by providing 10 copies to the Secretary for Board Services before the meeting begins.
  • Speakers must focus on issues suitable for a public setting. Specific complaints about personnel or student matters must be addressed through
  • proper administrative channels.
  • The Board does not respond directly to comments or questions during Open Forum, and by law, cannot discuss items not on the official agenda.
  • Disruptions are not permitted. Law enforcement may remove any disruptive individual to maintain order.
