Katy Heritage Society to Host Beloved Christmas at the Park Dec. 2
On December 2, the Katy Heritage Society will once again welcome local residents to Katy Heritage Park for holiday merriment at their annual Christmas at the Park.
At this year's installment of Christmas in the Park, guest will have the opportunity to sip on hot cocoa, write letters to Santa in the historic post office, create Christmas crafts, tour the historic homes on property and enjoy dozens of beautifully decorated Christmas trees sponsored by local businesses and organizations. All of these activities will be included in each general admission ticket. To add to the fun, guests can also enjoy hayrides, food and popcorn a la carte. The event kicks off at 5:00 PM and wraps up at 8:00 PM.
Early admission tickets are just $10 each, and children ages one and up will require a ticket to enter. The deadline to purchase early admission tickets is November 15, with general admission tickets available until December 1 at $12 each. Proceeds from tickets sales directly benefit the Katy Heritage Society, a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting educational and cultural development of the community. Their meaningful work involves preserving, restoring, and displaying historical landmarks, natural beauty, documents, and other objects distinctive of Katy and adjacent areas.
Katy Heritage Park is home to five historic Katy structures and a beautiful bandstand. Historic homes on property are decorated with period-appropriate historical items, showcasing life in Katy from over 100 years ago.
For those interested in sponsoring a Christmas tree, sponsored Christmas Trees will be featured in each house as one attraction. The cost to sponsor is $50.00 per tree, which can be decorated however the sponsor wishes.
