Justin Nichols Named New Principal of Truitt Middle School

December 18 2025

A familiar face in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD is taking on a new leadership role. Justin Nichols, currently the associate principal at Cypress Park High School, has been named the new principal of Truitt Middle School.

Nichols will take the reins from Dr. Plas Williams, who was recently appointed principal of Cypress Springs High School. For Nichols, this next chapter represents a meaningful continuation of his 17-year journey in education—all of it spent within CFISD.

“I am incredibly honored and grateful to serve as the next principal of Truitt Middle School,” Nichols said. “I look forward to joining the staff in working with our students and serving the Truitt community. We will continue to build on the legacy of Truitt Middle School as we prepare the Timberwolves to be leaders of the future. Remember the Pack!”

Nichols began his career in 2008 as a classroom teacher at Cypress Woods High School and served there for more than a decade. Along the way, he coached students at Cypress Woods, Spillane Middle School, and Campbell Middle School. In 2019, he moved into administration at Cypress Park High School as an assistant principal and was promoted to associate principal in 2023.

He earned both his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M University. Known by colleagues for his approachable leadership style and deep understanding of CFISD’s culture, Nichols is expected to bring strong, steady leadership to Truitt Middle School.

For families and community members in the Cy-Fair area, this leadership change is an exciting opportunity to get involved and stay engaged. As Nichols settles into his new role, the school community can expect a smooth transition and a strong focus on preparing students for success both in and out of the classroom.
