How to Support San Antonio Girl Scouts During 2026 Cookie Season — and What’s New This Year
Across the San Antonio area, a delicious tradition is in full swing: Girl Scout Cookie™ season is officially underway, having launched on December 14, 2025, and continuing through March 11, 2026. But behind the Thin Mints and Samoas is a deeper story — one of leadership, learning, and local impact.

Empowering Girls for Generations
Founded in 1912 by Juliette Gordon Low, the Girl Scouts movement has empowered millions of girls to lead with confidence and purpose. In 1917, a troop in Muskogee, Oklahoma baked cookies at home and sold them in their high school cafeteria to raise money — laying the foundation for a now-legendary program that builds entrepreneurship and leadership skills.
Locally, the Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas have been part of San Antonio’s fabric since 1924, when the Bexar County Council was formed with just four troops. Known for their early environmental activism — including bluebonnet planting along highways — and integrated camps by the 1950s, the council now serves 21 counties and continues its legacy through innovative programs and deep community roots.
The Girl Scout Cookie Program teaches five core skills: goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics — all essential for future success.
Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas use cookie proceeds to support leadership development, STEM programs, environmental education, summer camp at Camp La Jita, community service projects, and travel opportunities for girls.
Whether a kindergartener proudly selling her first box or a high schooler raising funds for a Gold Award project, every Girl Scout has a story powered by cookies.
Adobe Partnership Adds Digital Edge
This season, national sponsor Adobe is helping Girl Scouts build modern-day skills in design and digital communication through a new educational video on the Digital Cookie® platform — giving girls the tools to create, share, and grow their cookie business online.
