HCMUD 264 Plans Westcreek Sewer Repairs With Work Expected to Start in Q4 2026

HCMUD 264 Plans Westcreek Sewer Repairs With Work Expected to Start in Q4 2026

Copperfield  /
September 29 2026

A long sewer repair project is heading toward Westcreek, and for some Copperfield-area homeowners, the work may extend beyond the street and into backyard utility easements.

Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 264 says it is planning a broader sanitary sewer repair effort throughout Westcreek, with work expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026 and continue for at least 18 months. The district says the roughly 40-year-old sewer system needs repairs in multiple locations.

That means residents served by HCMUD 264 may see more construction traffic during the project, and some properties could receive advance door-hanger notices if crews need access through a backyard or utility easement. HCMUD 264 serves part of the Copperfield area, including Copperfield Westcreek Village.

What Residents Should Expect

According to the district's notice, crews may need to remove fences temporarily and dig holes to reach damaged sewer lines. The district says grass and any irrigation systems damaged during the work will be restored after repairs are finished.

The notice also draws a clear line for homeowners: other landscaping or private improvements that sit inside utility easements may not be replaced. For residents with gardens, decorative features, or other additions near easement areas, that detail could matter well before construction reaches their block.

Why Easement Areas Matter

Utility easements are the parts of a property reserved for access to public infrastructure, and the district's notice signals that some of this repair work may require crews to enter those spaces. The district says affected homes would receive advance notice before that happens.

For Westcreek residents, the practical takeaway is straightforward: watch for district notices, expect intermittent truck activity as the project moves through the neighborhood, and take note of any private improvements located inside easement areas.

What Happens Next

HCMUD 264 has not announced a specific start date beyond the fourth quarter of 2026, but the district says the work is expected to last at least 18 months once it begins.
