Harris County Precinct 3 Offering Free Christmas Tree Recycling Services
Harris County Precinct 3 is offering residents the opportunity to responsibly recycle their Christmas trees this holiday season. From December 26, 2024, through January 7, 2025, residents can drop off live Christmas trees at four designated collection sites across the county. The recycling service will be available daily from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
The available collection sites are:
- Burroughs Park: 9738 Hufsmith Road, Tomball, TX 77375 (MAP)
- Crosby Sports Complex: 6800 Miller Wilson Road, Crosby, TX 77532 (MAP)
- Lindsay/Lyons Park: 2310 Atascocita Road, Humble, TX 77396 (MAP)
- Meyer Park: 7700 Cypresswood Drive, Spring, TX 77379 (MAP)
Residents are reminded that only live Christmas trees will be accepted, and all lights and ornaments must be removed. There is a limit of two trees per vehicle.
Recycling Christmas trees is a key part of reducing waste and benefiting the environment. Once collected, the trees will be repurposed into mulch, compost, or other materials that can be used for landscaping and park maintenance. Last year, trees collected from Harris County Precinct 3 residents were turned into "fish condos" at Goforth and Cypress Creek parks, providing shelter and spawning grounds for growing fish populations. This sustainable practice helps conserve natural resources and supports local efforts to keep the community clean and green.
