Governors Place HOA Shares Heartfelt Thanks Following 41st Annual Independence Day Celebration
Submitted by Dave Gilkeson, Chair GP Independence Day Celebration
Many thanks to all the folks that participated in our 41st Annual Independence Day Celebration at Governors Place. In the shade of the tree,it wasn’t too bad – but still hot! The gathering, parade and pool activities were some of the fond memories that we can all share. Plus, we learned a lot about our Declaration of Independence signers. We all learned a few fun facts about the signers.
We also had donations from several homeowners Thank you to Chris and Erin Conti, Michael Fischer, Don Wolf, Gary Russell, Jan Surmacz, Jesse Garcia, Christy Reuter and Fowzia Malik. And, of course, Fire Station HCESD #48 and the Scouts Troop #48 and Cup Pack #81. The fire department led the parade. It was not a Fire Truck but an Incident Support Vehicle, what a nice surprise and this vehicle serves a great purpose. What a great parade it was!
If you would like to join the committee, please contact me. Good ideas come from you - please share.
Remember to get out into the neighborhood for Neighbor Night Out and meet your neighbors! This year Texas celebrates Neighbor Night out on Tuesday, October 6th. We are planning to have the Clubhouse be a gathering spot. And we plan to have a toy and food donation drive in November.
