For Governors Place residents who could not attend the September meeting, the Governors Place Community Association Board of Directors gathered Tuesday, Sept. 8, at the Governors Place Clubhouse with several neighborhood maintenance, financial and community-management topics on the agenda.

The meeting agenda included discussions affecting both day-to-day neighborhood upkeep and planning for the year ahead, including the proposed 2027 budget and assessment, landscaping work, pool operations and several repair projects.

Neighborhood Repairs and Maintenance

Among the updates listed were two repair decisions made between board meetings. The agenda noted a bid from Shooter & Lindsey to repair a valve at Benbury and Marble Hill, along with a bid from JD Solutions to repair an electrical connection at East Fernhurst and Provincial.

The board was also scheduled to review a bid for adding landscaping mulch around neighborhood trees and plants, power-washing bids and a pending proposal to replace stone caps, including selecting the type of replacement stone.

These smaller maintenance items may not always draw much attention individually, but together they are part of the ongoing work involved in maintaining shared areas throughout Governors Place.

2027 Budget and HOA Assessment

Financial planning was another major item on the September agenda. The board was scheduled to consider and vote on the Governors Place Community Association’s 2027 budget as well as the 2027 HOA assessment.

The agenda also included a financial report covering cash management and the association’s money market account.

Because the agenda itself does not include the final vote results or approved assessment amount, residents should look for official association records or meeting minutes for confirmation of any decisions made.

Pool, Landscaping and Community Management

Other neighborhood business included discussion of the American Pool contract, a needed sign for the pool’s 911 phone and the Crest Management contract.

The board agenda also referenced My Neighborhood News, along with Eagle Eyes and neighborhood camera reporting.

A homeowner open forum was scheduled near the beginning of the meeting, giving residents an opportunity to bring questions or concerns before the board.

Deed Restriction and Executive Session Items

The board also scheduled a hearing concerning a deed restriction letter involving a picnic table and was expected to consider the outcome after returning to open session. Additional executive-session topics included collections, attorney updates and deed restriction matters.

Because executive-session discussions are generally not detailed in a public meeting agenda, residents interested in any resulting board action should refer to the association’s official meeting summary or approved minutes.

When Is the Next Governors Place HOA Meeting?

The next Governors Place Community Association Board of Directors meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at the Governors Place Clubhouse, 335 Governors Place Drive in Katy.
