Go Bearkats!

An important part of the Wimbledon neighborhood is Klein High School.  We have some neighbors who send their kids to private schools but, if seems, most teens attend Klein or will be at Klein when they reach the ninth grade.

Supporting your local school by attending games, concerts, and performances is one way to introduce young students to their future high school.  Staying with football, when you take the family to these events, you are not only continuing a great Texas tradition (Friday Night Lights!) while enjoying the game, but your kids also get to see there is a lot more going on than just young men on the football field.

Over the years, so many teens from the Wimbledon neighborhood have participated as players, cheerleaders, Bearcadets, in the marching band, Stand Leaders, team managers and supporters in the stands.  A Mittelstädt student that isn’t interested in sports can see they can still participate in the fun by joining the band, for example.  They will still play an important role, get on the field, and be a part of a group.

Interested fans can get access to schedules at https://www.kleinhighathletics.com/calendar.  Football, basketball, baseball, softball, soccer and all the other sports are listed.  One important note is to remember, Klein ISD has one stadium which is shared with five high schools, so it is important to know if the Bearkats are home or away when the game is played at Klein Memorial Stadium.  If Klein is away, then you will enter and sit on the Stuebner Airline side of the field.  The home team is on the Lyons School Rd side.  And Friday Night Lights is a great Texas tradition but sometimes the games are on Saturday afternoon and evening!  Check the schedules.

Support the home team.  Attend some games with the family and let your kids see that Klein is very diverse and there is something for all interests.  And always remember, It’s A Great Day to be a Bearkat!
