
Fulshear Police Department Celebrates Promotion of Two Esteemed Officers to Corporal Rank
The Fulshear Police Department marked a proud milestone this morning as Officers Dylan Guadalupe and Edwardo Garza were formally promoted to the rank of Corporal in a heartfelt ceremony attended by family, friends, and fellow officers. With their spouses proudly pinning on their new badges, the promotion served as a powerful reminder of the dedication, professionalism, and leadership both men bring to the force.
A New Chapter of Service and Leadership
With their new rank, Corporals Guadalupe and Garza will now take on heightened responsibilities within the department, including supervising patrol shifts, mentoring junior officers, and acting as crucial liaisons between the frontline and command staff.
These new roles underscore a career-long commitment to guiding others and enhancing the department's overall effectiveness. Their promotions followed a rigorous selection process, including a competitive presentation to the promotion board—one that both officers navigated with distinction.
Corporal Dylan Guadalupe: A Scholar, Mentor, and Fitness Leader
Corporal Dylan Guadalupe’s journey began far from Fulshear, in the state of New Jersey. After moving to Texas, he pursued higher education at Sam Houston State University, graduating in 2015 with dual Bachelor’s degrees in Criminal Justice and History. He launched his law enforcement career in 2018 with the Huntsville Police Department, serving as a Field Training Officer and later, a detective in the Criminal Investigations Division.

Since joining the Fulshear Police Department in May 2023, Corporal Guadalupe has quickly become an indispensable asset. He resumed his Field Training Officer duties and also serves as a Jiu-Jitsu instructor—both roles reflecting his passion for mentorship and officer preparedness. His commitment to physical excellence is equally notable; he consistently earns the department’s highest fitness assessment scores.
Corporal Guadalupe resides in Fulshear with his wife, Annel—who is also a dedicated City of Fulshear employee—and their two sons, Dylan and Ezekiel. The family eagerly awaits the arrival of their third child, adding yet another joyful chapter to this exciting time.

Corporal Edwardo Garza: Tactical Expertise and a Heart for Mentorship
A longtime resident of Katy, Texas, Corporal Edwardo Garza began his career in law enforcement in 2011 with the Dumas Police Department after completing training at the University of Houston–Downtown Police Academy. His time in Dumas was marked by multiple leadership roles, including serving as a Corporal, Field Training Officer, and SWAT Sniper.
In 2019, he brought his talents to the Katy Police Department, again serving as a Field Training Officer. His passion for developing new officers remained unwavering, and in December 2021, he joined the Fulshear Police Department. Corporal Garza quickly resumed his mentoring role and has since been a vital guide to new recruits navigating the challenges of the job.

Garza lives in Katy with his wife Carly and their three children: sons Carson and Ryan, and daughter Adelena. His commitment to his community and to the next generation of officers is evident in every facet of his career.
