As tax season approaches, many families in Cypress Point begin gathering W-2s, 1099s, and receipts — often wondering where to turn for reliable, affordable help. For residents near Northwest Branch Library, a trusted resource is returning just in time.

The AARP Tax Aide program will once again offer free tax preparation services at the Northwest Branch Library, located at 11355 Regency Green Drive, Cypress, TX 77429. The program runs from Friday, February 6, 2026, through Wednesday, April 15, 2026, providing valuable tax assistance in Cypress for individuals and families who need support navigating federal income tax returns.

For many in the community — especially retirees, seniors, and households looking to maximize refunds — this program can make a meaningful financial difference.

What Is AARP Tax Aide?

The AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program is the nation’s largest free, volunteer-run tax assistance and preparation service. While it is often associated with seniors, the program is open to taxpayers of all ages, with a focus on assisting low- to moderate-income individuals, older adults, and those who may not have access to professional tax services.

IRS-certified volunteers provide help with basic federal income tax returns, ensuring filings are accurate and compliant with current IRS regulations. The service is offered in partnership with the Harris County Public Library System, making Northwest Branch Library a convenient hub for residents in Cypress and surrounding neighborhoods like Cypress Point.
