Frassati Catholic High School to Break Ground on $7M Academic Expansion in Spring
Frassati Catholic High School in Spring, Texas, will soon begin construction on a new academic facility as part of its ongoing expansion. Scheduled to break ground in October 2025, the 20,019-square-foot Classroom Building represents a $7 million investment into the school’s infrastructure and is expected to open by August 2026.
The project is part of the school's Building Saints Capital Campaign, a fundraising initiative aimed at developing spaces that support both academic inquiry and spiritual formation. The new building will include seven general-purpose classrooms, three science laboratories with two prep rooms, and an administrative suite that includes a principal’s office and conference space. The facility is privately funded and will be built on Frassati’s current campus at 22151 Frassati Way in northern Harris County.
Project Scope and Architectural Design
Moment Architects has been selected to lead the design of the building. According to the firm, the architecture is influenced by the aesthetic of European monasteries and seeks to integrate with the existing campus architecture. The structure will use a combination of plaster, stone, and cast concrete over a pre-engineered steel frame.
The interior layout is designed to foster collaboration and flexibility, with dedicated spaces for both classroom instruction and scientific experimentation. Administrative offices for faculty and school leadership will be incorporated alongside the instructional areas.

Expansion Tied to School’s Long-Term Plan
Since opening its doors in 2013, Frassati Catholic High School has expanded gradually in accordance with a long-term campus master plan. Initially serving only ninth and tenth grades, the school added a grade each year to build toward a full four-year high school program. The campus has grown steadily over the past decade, with support from over 1,000 benefactors and the oversight of the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia Congregation.
A previous phase of expansion in 2014 included the addition of a second academic building and a 54,000-square-foot gymnasium and fine arts complex. That facility included athletic courts, spectator seating, a performance hall, and space for both visual and performing arts programs.
Facility Purpose and Academic Goals
School leadership describes the new building as a response to the evolving demands of modern education, particularly in areas where academic content intersects with broader cultural and ethical questions. The Building Saints campaign framework suggests that physical space is a key element in delivering an education that balances intellectual development with moral and spiritual formation.
The Classroom Building is one of several projects envisioned to support Frassati Catholic’s goal of serving up to 1,000 students. Now in its twelfth academic year, the school continues to promote a college preparatory curriculum with a focus on character development, community involvement, and faith-based values.
