Fort Bend County Precinct 1 Mobility Projects Advance: Grand Parkway, Hunt Road, Fulshear Gaston, and More
Fort Bend County Precinct 1 is moving forward with a wide range of roadway and mobility improvements aimed at easing congestion, enhancing safety, and preparing for future growth. From Grand Parkway frontage roads to neighborhood connectors and new traffic signals, these updates reflect both county and community priorities.
Grand Parkway Projects
Several ongoing projects are reshaping key portions of Grand Parkway (SH 99). Construction continues on the southbound frontage road between FM 1093 and Fry Road, with substantial completion of the main lanes expected by summer 2025. Utility coordination, including with Atmos Energy, remains underway. Meanwhile, multiple design projects are advancing for future widening and frontage road improvements between Westheimer, Fry Road, and Cinco Ranch. Right-of-way acquisitions are in progress, with parcel closings expected this fall.
Noise abatement is also being addressed. TxDOT’s consultant is preparing a final noise report, with community workshops planned for this fall. Alternatives are under review for constructing a noise barrier near WFDD Park.

2023 Mobility Bond Projects
Voters in 2023 approved a mobility bond that is now funding dozens of local projects. Among them:

Skinner Lane is being expanded in multiple segments, with drainage studies underway and alignments being refined to minimize environmental impacts. Adjustments such as reducing speed limits and curve radii are planned to better fit existing wetlands.

Pool Hill Road is progressing across three segments, with surveys and drainage analysis ongoing. Meetings in August focused on aligning the roadway to best fit existing intersections and future expansion needs.

Hunt Road improvements include corridor alignment reviews and coordination with TxDOT on bridge replacements, which will require temporary closures.

Sidewalk enhancements are planned across the precinct, with the first project at Katy Gaston delayed slightly to allow additional survey work.
Community Roadway Updates
Several high-profile community road projects are also moving forward:

Stella Road construction is nearing completion, with the road expected to have opened by the end of August and final completion by October 2025.

Willow Lane speed control improvements have been installed, with ongoing tweaks to address resident concerns.

Wallis Street and Bowser Road are in design and acquisition stages, with drainage and right-of-way coordination ongoing.

Fulshear Gaston Road phases are advancing, with parcel acquisitions, drainage easements, and TxDOT coordination continuing.

New traffic signals are being designed for Falcon Landing Blvd, while the Cinco Terrace signal is on hold.

Library and Community Access
A major community benefit comes with the Ginter Library Access Road, where Phase 2 construction is complete and Phase 3 has been awarded for $5.13 million. This project provides access to the new library and supporting infrastructure along FM 1093.
