Fort Bend County Officials Provide Storm Debris Removal Update

The following update was provided by the Fort Bend County Homeland Security and Emergency Management office on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at approximately 8:30 PM.

Debris pickup is underway with additional crews on the ground tomorrow. The debris contractor has indicated that there will be crews in the following areas on July 18, 2024:
  • Brazos Valley
  • Weston Lakes
  • Crabb due east of Crabb
  • Rosenberg
  • Richmond
  • Sienna Point
  • Sienna Plantation
  • Pecan Grove
  • Missouri City
  • Meadows Place
  • Arcola
  • Needville
  • Pleak
  • Booth
  • Stafford
  • Pecan Estates
  • Kendleton
  • Bryan Road
  • Misson Bend
  • Y.U. Jones Road/Sun Ranch
  • River Ranch Neighborhood
  • Thompsons
  • Brazos Lakes Dr.
  • Orchard
They will be working through these areas on a first pass and will work to return into these areas as needed. As a reminder, please do not bag debris. The separated piles of debris are being picked up for recycling and bagged items cannot be identified nor the plastic bag be recycled in vegetation.
 
In an effort to recycle as many materials as possible, residents are asked to separate disaster debris into the following piles:
  • Construction and Demolition Materials
  • White Goods
  • Vegetative Materials (trees, limbs, brush, leaves, etc.)
DO NOT MIX OR PLACE NORMAL HOUSEHOLD TRASH WITH STORM DEBRIS CURBSIDE.
 
Normal Household Trash
Normal household waste, recyclables and bagged debris of any kind will not be collected with your storm debris. Please continue to follow your normal garbage removal schedule.

Important Reminders
  • Please note that this operation is ONLY for disaster debris.
  • Please do not attempt to place garbage or other household refuse with the disaster debris, as it will not be accepted, and will delay your storm debris collections.
  • Regular trash removal services in the community will continue as scheduled.
  • Please place the debris piles at the curb in the public right-of-way (not in ditches) in front of your home or business as soon as possible.
  • Please do not block any public utilities such as fire hydrants, water valves, road signs, etc. If properly separated, it will be picked up by crews.
