Fall Fresh Start for Williamsburg Settlement Tennis Courts After Soft Wash Refresh
With the first signs of fall popping up in the Katy area, Williamsburg Settlement residents have another reason to step outside and enjoy the season: the neighborhood tennis courts have just received a partial soft wash, helping remove mildew and grime buildup that can cause slippery, unsafe surfaces.
The recent soft washing work targeted mildew-prone areas, especially where shaded spots had created conditions for potential hazards. While it wasn’t a full resurface, the cleanup improves both appearance and safety—and comes just in time for cooler weather and more comfortable outdoor activity.
A Neighborhood Asset Worth Using
The Williamsburg Settlement tennis courts are open year-round from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and are available to all residents in good standing and their guests (as long as guests are accompanied by the resident). Whether you're a regular player or haven’t picked up a racquet in years, fall is the perfect time to take advantage of this well-maintained neighborhood amenity.
There are four courts in total, with one offering dual functionality as a pickleball court. Two movable pickleball nets are available—when not in use, they should be wheeled to the fence line (remember to release the locks before moving). With both sports growing in popularity, residents can enjoy the flexibility of choosing what game suits them best.
How to Access the Courts
To obtain a court key, residents must submit a completed Tennis Court Key Application Form and a $20 refundable deposit to Crest Management (P.O. Box 219320, Houston, TX 77218-9320). If the key is lost, the replacement charge is also $20.

Reserved Times and Weekly Traditions
While the courts are generally open for spontaneous play, a few regular time blocks are set aside for neighborhood groups and leagues:
- Monday (Ladies' Night): 7:00–9:00 p.m. (warm-up starts at 6:45 p.m.)
- Tuesday & Thursday (Men’s Night): 5:30–8:00 p.m. (two courts)
Ladies and men have court priority during these times, and other players may be asked to vacate the courts if all are in use. It’s a long-standing tradition and a great way to meet neighbors, break a sweat, and enjoy friendly competition. Don’t have a partner? Just show up—most groups welcome drop-in players.
The only other blackout periods occur when official tennis league matches are scheduled. Match days and details are posted on the bulletin boards near the court entrance.
A Court for Everyone
Whether you're a lifelong tennis lover, a beginner eager to try pickleball, or someone just looking for a fun new way to stay active this season, Williamsburg Settlement’s courts are here for you to enjoy. With the surfaces freshly cleaned and fall weather on the horizon, now is a perfect time to lace up your shoes, grab a racket, and hit the courts.
