Ezee Fiber Issues in Grayson Lakes

Ezee Fiber Issues in Grayson Lakes

August 17 2024

This message was issued to Grayson Lakes residents on August 17 concerning issues with Ezee Fiber.

The Grayson Lakes Homeowners Association is fully aware of the issues, damages, and disruptions caused by Ezee Fiber Texas LLC/Lightsett’s installation of cable throughout our neighborhood. It has come to our attention that many residents have been misled by Ezee Fiber representatives, who falsely claimed that they were permitted by the GL HOA to access private property.

Let us be clear: the GL HOA was not notified of the construction before the commencement of activities, and under no circumstances does the GL HOA grant permission or permit third-party access to property not owned by the GL HOA.

The actions of Ezee Fiber’s contractor have left our community in disarray. Despite our repeated efforts to address the damage and unauthorized access with Ezee Fiber, our attempts have yielded little to no success.

We have also been in communication with the Fort Bend County Engineering Department, which issued the permits for this work. Yesterday, on August 16th, a Permit Coordinator from Fort Bend County visited the site and provided the following response:

“Ezee Fiber contractors should not need to enter private property for this project, as the work is along the sidewalk, the side closest to the homes, and between the sidewalk and curb, which is Fort Bend County Right of Way. If they need access outside of this area, they must get permission from the property owner first. I visited the areas covered by the permit and spoke to some residents who saw me taking pictures of the damage and mess Ezee Fiber has caused.

As I explained to them, when the job is finished, the Right of Way should be restored to its original condition or better (i.e., sod replaced, dirt piles removed or leveled, trash picked up), and any damages such as broken sprinkler lines, water lines, sidewalks, etc., are to be repaired by the contractor at their expense. Ezee Fiber has been informed of my concerns and findings, as this is unacceptable and needs immediate correction.”

If your property has not been reasonably restored or if you have concerns, we urge you to contact the Fort Bend County Engineering Department, referencing Permit Numbers #2024-70757 and #2023-70613.

Please direct your questions and concerns to the following individuals:

In addition, if you as a resident have questions or comments for Ezee Fiber, we have been told that their representatives will be present at this month’s, HOA Board meeting (Wednesday, August 21, 6:30PM).
