Experience the Magic of Broadway: National Youth Theater Presents Guys & Dolls at Lone Star College Tomball
The Performing Arts Center at Lone Star College Tomball will soon come alive with the classic musical comedy, Guys & Dolls, courtesy of an exciting production by National Youth Theater.
The National Youth Theater, or NYT, holds a rich history of engaging students with life-changing experiences through performing arts. Founded in Chicago in 2013 by Justin and Rachel Parks—both veterans of Christian Youth Theater and Spotlight Theater—NYT was designed to be a model for similar initiatives across the country, blending a love for theatre with a commitment to nurturing youngsters.
NYT's vision found its first believers in Houston and since then, the guiding principle has always remained the same: a focus on God, on developing young talent, and on the transformative power of theater. Now, the efforts of founding members Melissa Jacobs, Jane Hallford, and Operations Manager Jennifer Chidester, along with the Parks family, shape the organization's direction and progress.

The upcoming NYT production features the award-winning Guys & Dolls, a story that dances with luck, love, and the energetic bustle of Broadway. A high-rolling gambler, a puritanical missionary, a hopeful showgirl, and a notorious crap game manager make for an unlikely yet enthralling Manhattan mix in this classic musical. Set against the backdrop of Damon Runyon’s short stories, Guys & Dolls follows Nathan Detroit's endeavors to keep his infamous crap game alive while managing a unique love bet involving Sky Masterson, and an uptight evangelist, Sergeant Sarah Brown.
Famed for its iconic songs such as “Luck Be a Lady,” “Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat,” "Adelaide’s Lament," "I’ve Never Been in Love Before," and "If I Were a Bell," the show is a whirlwind of wit, charm, and plenty of heart. Don't miss the opportunity to witness this classic tale of luck, love, and the lengths a guy will go when he truly falls for a "doll."
Show times are August 2 at 7:00 PM, August 3 at 2:00 and 6:00 PM, and August 4 at 2:00 PM. Performances will be held at the Lone Star College Tomball Performing Arts Center, located at 30555 Tomball Parkway, Tomball 77375. Tickets range from $12 to $20 each. For tickets, visit nyt.varsityseats.com.
