Great news, Yorktown Colony residents! A Little Free Library is on its way to the neighborhood, bringing a fun and easy way to share the joy of reading with friends and neighbors. Whether you’re an avid bookworm, looking for a new bedtime story for the kids, or just want to pass along a great read, this community book-sharing hub will be a wonderful addition to Yorktown Colony.
What is a Little Free Library?
A Little Free Library is a small, weatherproof book-sharing box where people can take a book or leave a book—completely free! The idea is simple: if you find a book that interests you, feel free to take it home, read it, and return it when you’re done (or pass it along to someone else!). If you have books you’d like to donate, you can place them in the library for others to enjoy. It’s an easy way to keep books circulating in the community and encourage a love of reading for all ages.
How Will It Work in Yorktown Colony?
The Little Free Library in Yorktown Colony will have space for both adult and children’s books, so there’s something for everyone.

If you’d like to borrow a book, simply take one! No need to sign up or check it out—just read and return.

If you have books to donate, let your HOA Board know on Town Square, and they will coordinate collecting them.
The Little Library has already been ordered, and the community is in the process of deciding on the best location for it. Once it’s installed, it will be a free, easily accessible resource for everyone in Yorktown Colony!
