Everwood Reserve Brings New Vision for Assisted Living to Tomball with $8.4M Project
A transformative new development is on its way to Tomball. Everwood Reserve, a privately funded luxury assisted living and memory care community, is coming to 13011 Medical Complex Drive, with construction set to begin in early October 2025, and expected completion by late October 2026, according to official permit filings.
The project represents a major investment in senior care infrastructure for the region. With a construction budget topping $8.4 million, Everwood Reserve will consist of two single-story, 10,200-square-foot homes built on more than 7 acres of land in the city’s high-growth medical corridor. Each residence will feature private suites and bathrooms for all 32 residents — a design rooted in comfort, dignity, and community.
Not Just Care — A Community
“When we first began the journey to build Everwood Reserve, we weren’t just thinking about a business — we were thinking about people,” said Andrea Ameen, Co-Founder of Everwood Reserve. “About dignity. About the kind of home we would want for our own family members, and for every resident who deserves not just care, but community.”
The project is modeled after the “Memory Care Mansion” design developed by Brett Chotkevys, which was recently implemented at Platinum Resort Assisted Community in Georgetown, Texas. Chotkevys joins the Tomball effort as a minority partner and strategic advisor. The team behind Everwood Reserve includes architects and wellness professionals who spent months studying best practices in memory care design, emphasizing holistic wellness and individualized attention.

A Public-Private Partnership with Local Benefits
While the project is primarily privately funded, the Tomball Economic Development Corporation (TEDC) has also pledged support, approving $54,102 in cost reimbursement for infrastructure improvements to assist in bringing the project to life.
According to the executed agreement between TEDC and Everwood Reserve Properties, LLC, the funding will contribute to drainage, sewer, water, electric, and ADA-compliant site improvements necessary for the facility to operate successfully. The infrastructure investment alone totals more than $832,000, including $293,789 in site prep and $224,492 in storm drainage systems.
In return, Everwood Reserve has committed to maintaining the facility for at least five years and creating 26 new full-time jobs in Tomball, boosting the local healthcare and service economy.
Designed for Dignity and Daily Living
Beyond square footage and permits, Everwood Reserve aims to offer something deeply human. Each of the two homes will host 16 residents, fostering an intimate, family-style environment. The development is designed to meet both assisted living and memory care needs, with tailored programming that supports cognitive health, emotional connection, and physical wellness.
“We spent months researching and learning from experts about the best practices in memory care design and holistic senior wellness,” Ameen said. “We formed the Ameen Family Foundation, focused on expanding access to supportive services for seniors throughout Tomball and beyond.”

The Rise of Memory Care: Why It Matters Now More Than Ever
The rapid growth of memory care facilities like Everwood Reserve reflects a broader national shift in how the U.S. addresses the complex needs of an aging population. According to the Alzheimer’s Association’s 2024 Facts and Figuresreport, approximately 6.9 million Americans age 65 and older are living with Alzheimer’s disease in 2025. That number is projected to grow to nearly 13 million by 2050 if no medical breakthroughs intervene.
Alzheimer’s is now the fifth leading cause of death for those age 65 and older and accounts for one in every three senior deaths, highlighting the critical importance of accessible, specialized care. The demand for memory care services continues to rise as families seek safe, structured environments for loved ones experiencing cognitive decline.
Traditional nursing homes are often not equipped to meet the unique emotional, behavioral, and medical needs of individuals with memory loss. In response, the industry has seen a move toward purpose-built memory care communities that incorporate evidence-based design, trained staff, and programming aimed at preserving dignity and enhancing quality of life.
Recent market trends reflect this demand. Data from the National Investment Center for Seniors Housing & Care (NIC) shows that memory care occupancy has steadily increased nationwide, with many markets approaching or surpassing 90% in early 2025 — rebounding from pandemic-era lows and reflecting growing consumer confidence in these care models.
In addition, many providers — like Everwood Reserve — are embracing a shift toward smaller, homelike residential settings, which research suggests can reduce agitation and confusion in residents with dementia. Familiar environments, private rooms, predictable routines, and lower resident-to-staff ratios are all shown to contribute to improved well-being for those with memory impairment.
In Texas, where the senior population is expanding faster than the national average, developments like Everwood Reserve represent not just innovation — but a necessary response to a pressing societal need. As care expectations evolve, so too does the blueprint for compassionate, community-centered aging.

Building a Legacy, Not Just a Facility
The construction marks more than just a new addition to the Tomball community—it signals the beginning of what Ameen and her team hope will be a legacy of compassionate senior care.
“This is just the beginning,” she added. “Everwood Reserve isn’t just about buildings. It’s about building a legacy of care, dignity, and belonging — one family, one life at a time.”
