Ella Crossing Fire Safety Reminder: Firepits and Outdoor Burning Guidelines
As cooler weather invites more outdoor gatherings around this time of year, it’s important for Ella Crossing residents to keep fire safety top of mind. Open or uncontained backyard fires are not permitted under any circumstances, as they pose a serious threat to homes, fences, and surrounding properties.
If you're using a firepit, please remember the following safety guidelines:
- Use only a designated, fully contained firepit
- Keep firepits well away from fences, structures, and overhanging trees
- Never leave a fire unattended
- Ensure fires are fully extinguished after use

In addition, Harris County’s outdoor burning rules apply in our community, including any burn bans that may be in effect. These rules help prevent accidents and protect both property and lives. Check with the Harris County Fire Marshal's Office to confirm if a burn ban is in effect when you are thinking about using your fire pit.
Let’s keep Ella Crossing safe and warm this season—responsible firepit use ensures everyone can enjoy outdoor gatherings without worry.
