Elgin Nonprofit Grant Applications Due at Noon Nov. 6

Homestead Estates  /
October 17 2026

Nonprofit organizations serving the Elgin community have until noon Friday, Nov. 6, 2026 to apply for City of Elgin funding for FY 2026-27 programs and projects.

The funding is intended for nonprofit programs or projects that improve quality of life for a significant number of people in the Elgin community. The application process is for organizations seeking program or project funding, not for individual household assistance.

Applications Must Be Emailed by Noon Nov. 6

The current FY 2026-27 Non-Profit Funding Application packet must be completed and submitted electronically only to the City Secretary's Office at citysecretary@elgintexas.gov by noon on Nov. 6.

Applications must be completed in full to be considered. If an organization is seeking funding for more than one program, it must submit a separate application for each program.

What the Application Asks Organizations to Provide

The first part of the packet asks for basic agency and contact information, the program title, the amount requested, whether the program is new, expanding or already in place, and the number of direct clients served in Elgin.

Organizations must also indicate whether participation depends on income or another eligibility standard. If it does, the packet requires applicants to attach the applicable eligibility guidelines. If a sliding scale is used, a copy of that scale must also be included.

The application includes signature lines for both the Executive Director and the Board President, along with each person's printed name and date.

The Questionnaire Has Eight Required Topics

The packet also includes an eight-question Non-Profit Funding Advisory Committee questionnaire. Responses should be typed and must not exceed 75 words per question. Applicants may use a separate attachment for their answers.

The questionnaire asks organizations to address all eight of the following topics:

  • The organization's mission and how it benefits the City of Elgin.
  • The name of the project and the opportunities or needs it addresses.
  • The total project cost and the amount requested from the City of Elgin.
  • When the requested funding would be spent.
  • Plans to sustain the project and the organization.
  • Any differences between how last year's allocation was proposed to be spent and how it was actually spent, with supporting documentation if applicable.
  • The names and occupations of the organization's board members.
  • Other sources of funding and the amounts received.

Where to Get the Packet or Ask Questions

Application packets are available online and may also be picked up at Elgin City Hall, 310 N. Main Street. Completed applications, however, must still be submitted by email only.

Organizations with questions can contact the City Secretary's Office at 512-229-3223. The application packet also lists the city's general number as 512-281-5724.

Applicants can also review the city's official grant announcement and Non-Profits Grant page for current information.
