EEYP Opens Collaborative Mural Project to Local High School Students

November 14 2023

In a bid to foster positive self-expression, life skills development, and artistic growth, the Expose Excellence Youth Program (EEYP) is extending an exciting opportunity to Fort Bend County students.

EEYP, a nonprofit that assists in advocating for youth in Fort Bend County, provides a safe space for youth interaction while nurturing their talents. Their programs aim to help students gain access to educational resources and overcome barriers to educational opportunities. One of their current initiatives gives Fort Bend County students an opportunity to create a collaborative mural that will find its home in the Fort Bend County Justice Center, serving as a testament to the creativity and unity of local youth.

Due to the high interest in EEYP's EpiCenter Mural this summer, EEYP is recruiting high school students for this mural collaboration. Students aged 14 to 17 residing within Fort Bend County, and either enrolled in a high school within the county or homeschooled are eligible for this unique artistic venture. By filling out a simple registration form, students grant EEYP permission to showcase their artwork on all EEYP platforms, accompanied by their first name and school details.

The selected participants are required to attend a mandatory in-person meeting on Tuesday, November 21. Following the initial meeting, virtual meetings are scheduled for Tuesday, November 28 and Tuesday, December 5. These sessions are designed not only to coordinate the collaborative effort but also to provide a platform for creative exchange among the budding artists.

Prospective participants can reach out to the EEYP Coordinators, Raven Forrester (raven.forrester@fortbendcountytx.gov) and Wendi Palomera (wendi.palomera@fortbendcountytx.gov) for more information. Fort Bend County students, it's time to unleash your creativity and leave a lasting mark on your community!
