Donate Easter Baskets to Benefit Habitat for Humanity Northwest Harris County’s Toolbox Bash Gala

April 17 2025

If you're wondering what to do with those leftover Easter baskets, Habitat for Humanity Northwest Harris County has the perfect solution. From April 17 to April 24, the nonprofit is hosting a Basket Collection Drive, calling on the community to donate gently-used baskets of all styles—plastic, woven, or decorative—for a good cause.

All donated baskets will be repurposed for use at the organization's upcoming Toolbox Bash Gala, a fundraising event that supports Habitat’s mission to build affordable housing and strengthen local families. To sweeten the deal, each donor will be entered into a drawing to win two free tickets to the Toolbox Bash, taking place Saturday, April 26 at the Omni Houston Hotel.

A Simple Way to Support Affordable Housing in Northwest Harris County

The drop-off location for baskets is 11450 Compaq Center Drive #106 in Houston, and donations are accepted Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This simple act of generosity helps prepare for one of the nonprofit’s largest fundraising events of the year, while also promoting sustainability and reuse.

Community members are encouraged to clean out their closets and give their leftover Easter baskets a new purpose—helping local families in need of safe, decent housing.

About Habitat for Humanity Northwest Harris County

Founded in 1989, Habitat for Humanity Northwest Harris County has been serving the greater Houston area for over three decades. The organization is part of the global Habitat for Humanity network, a Christian-based nonprofit that helps families build and improve places to call home.

Habitat Northwest Harris County focuses on empowering families through affordable homeownership, financial literacy programs, and community revitalization efforts. By working alongside volunteers and partner families, the organization has helped build more than 200 homes in the region.

Through donations, volunteer hours, and partnerships, Habitat continues to make a meaningful impact across the northwest Houston area—including in communities like Cypress, Tomball, and Spring.

Looking Ahead: The Toolbox Bash Gala

The Toolbox Bash Gala, scheduled for Saturday, April 26, is more than just a night of celebration—it’s a vital fundraiser that brings together local leaders, donors, and community members to support Habitat’s work. Funds raised at the event directly benefit construction projects, homeowner education programs, and critical home repairs.

The gala will feature a lively evening of dinner, entertainment, and silent and live auctions—all designed to raise awareness and resources for the housing needs of the local community. It’s an event where generosity meets purpose.
