Bell-bottoms are optional, but a little appreciation for music, vehicles and pop culture from decades past will fit right in when GroovFest returns to downtown Tomball.

The free festival will take over Tomball Depot Plaza from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, bringing live music, vintage vehicles, food, shopping and children's activities to the heart of the city.

Admission and parking are free.

GroovFest is built around retro entertainment and nostalgia, but families do not need to arrive dressed for a particular decade to enjoy the afternoon. The event is designed for all ages and offers several ways to take part, whether visitors want to listen to music, browse vendors, photograph vintage vehicles or let the kids explore the activity areas.

Live Music and Vintage Vehicles at Tomball Depot Plaza

Live performances will provide the soundtrack throughout the festival, giving visitors a reason to stay awhile rather than simply walk through.

A display of colorful vintage vehicles will add to the throwback atmosphere and provide photo opportunities for vehicle enthusiasts and families. Interactive photo booths will also be available for festivalgoers who want a keepsake from the day.

The festival grounds will include local vendors selling crafts and other products, along with food vendors serving meals, snacks and festival treats.

GroovFest Activities for Children

Families bringing younger children will find several activities beyond the music and vehicles.

The City of Tomball says the 2026 festival will include face painting, a bubble station, stilt walkers and a dedicated play zone. The mix gives children room to stay busy while parents enjoy the performances, vendors and vehicle displays.

With the entire event scheduled during daytime hours, GroovFest also offers families an option that does not require keeping younger children out late.
