Grazeables Relocating to Conroe as Family-Owned Charcuterie Business Starts New Chapter
For a small business built around carefully arranged food, handwritten notes and helping people mark meaningful moments, the road to Grazeables’ next storefront has been anything but neatly arranged.
Grazeables is officially moving to Conroe, where signs are now up at its new location at 408 Wilson Rd, Conroe, TX 77301. The transition will take the charcuterie, catering and edible artistry business from its longtime Tomball home into Montgomery County, giving Conroe-area customers a new local destination while allowing the family-owned company to continue growing its catering, delivery and nationwide shipping operations.
The move also closes the chapter on an earlier plan to relocate to Magnolia, a plan that Grazeables says fell apart after money paid toward the buildout did not reach contractors and the promised work was not completed.
For customers who have followed the business from its early days, the Conroe location represents more than another address. It is a fresh start for a company whose beginnings were rooted in the idea that food can sometimes say what words cannot.
From oncology nursing to charcuterie and edible artistry
Grazeables founder Amy Martinez spent more than a decade working as an oncology nurse before the business took shape. According to the company, Martinez began creating small food boxes as a way to bring comfort to people facing chemotherapy, dialysis and long-term rehabilitation, particularly patients enduring difficult treatments without someone beside them.
Those early boxes paired food with handwritten messages, and word began to spread. What started as a gesture of encouragement eventually developed into a family business, with Martinez's grown children working alongside her. Grazeables built its storefront and shop in 2019 and describes itself as Montgomery County's first freestanding charcuterie shop and the first cheese and charcuterie bar in Texas.
Today, Grazeables has expanded well beyond individual charcuterie boxes. Its offerings include cheese and charcuterie platters, customized grazing tables, event catering and themed tablescapes featuring combinations of meats, artisan cheeses, fruits, vegetables, breads, crackers, dips, nuts, olives and edible flowers. The company also accommodates dietary restrictions and customization requests.
That attention to presentation has become a defining part of the Grazeables brand. Its event tablescapes incorporate elements such as wood boards and crates, glass platters, greenery, florals, lighting and customized décor, turning the food itself into part of an event's design.
More recently, the business has expanded its reach nationally through Goldbelly. Grazeables charcuterie platters can now be shipped across the country, extending a business that began with hand-delivered boxes around the Houston area to customers well beyond Texas.
A Magnolia move that never reached opening day
Conroe was not originally supposed to be Grazeables' next home.
In a Sept. 4 social media post, the company explained that it had spent the previous year preparing for a move to Magnolia. According to Grazeables' account, the property owner was also serving as the commercial contractor for the project, and plans were developed for a customized space designed around the company's equipment, workflow and future growth.
Grazeables said it made payments toward the project while continuing to manage its busy event schedule. As deadlines approached, however, the company said communication became increasingly difficult and it eventually discovered that the buildout had not been completed. Grazeables further alleged that contractors involved in the project had not received money the business believed it had paid toward their work. The Magnolia shop did not open, and Grazeables had to reconsider where it would go next.
The company said recovering from the failed project took months. Its Tomball landlord allowed the business to enter a short-term lease, giving the Grazeables team a place to continue operating while it searched for another permanent home.
That search ultimately led north to Conroe.
Grazeables begins its move to 408 Wilson Road in Conroe
Grazeables announced this week that signage is now installed at its new Conroe location at 408 Wilson Road and that the company has entered what it calls “transition mode.”
The retail portion of the Tomball store at 406 W Main St, Tomball, TX 77375 has closed, although the company plans to continue offering Tomball store pickups by appointment throughout October. Grazeables said online orders, deliveries, events and nationwide shipping will continue seven days a week while the team packs and moves into the Conroe shop.
Corporate and catering orders will also continue for delivery and store pickup during the transition.
The move brings the business back into Montgomery County, where Grazeables says its first freestanding charcuterie shop was established before its later Tomball storefront. For customers searching for charcuterie in Conroe, catering in Montgomery County or custom grazing tables near The Woodlands and North Houston, the Wilson Road location will put the business closer to a growing base of residents and events across the area.
Grazeables has not yet announced an official public opening date for the new Conroe retail shop, saying only that it plans to share the space with customers soon.
After a difficult year of setbacks, Grazeables kept doing what it has always done: showing up for its customers, keeping the business moving and looking for the right place to grow. Now, with a new home taking shape at 408 Wilson Road, the Conroe move feels less like a restart and more like a hard-earned next chapter for a family-owned business that refused to let one painful experience define what came next.
