Cypress Springs HS Sophomore Named CFISD Student of the Week
Cypress Springs High School sophomore Aerell McKnight is known around campus for being involved in various activities.

Accomplishments: McKnight started learning computer science when he was 12 years old and now competes at UIL Academic competitions in computer science. He’s participated in the CFISD Horizons Showcase the past two years and was also nominated for homecoming court his freshman and sophomore years.
Favorite class: “Math, because I find math and numbers extremely fun and intriguing to work with. I’m also very good at it.”
Favorite things to do after class: “After school I go to computer science class to train and prepare for UIL competitions.”
Favorite song: “Sweden by C418.”
Favorite website/app: “Discord is my favorite because I can easily connect with friends, explore communities, help and get help for coding and develop applications.”
Favorite TV show: “My favorite shows are Steven Universe, Gravity Falls, Stars vs. the Forces of Evil and The Owl House.”
Favorite movie: “My favorite movie is Avengers: Endgame. I’m a huge Marvel fan and Endgame references every past movie in an awesome way.”
Ambition: “I want to use my skills to create something everyone will find awesome.”
What topics/things are you passionate about?: “I am passionate about programming, math and Minecraft.”
What inspires you?: “The fact that no matter how much I grow, how much I can do, how great I become, someone out there will be better than me. I won’t stop until that’s no longer the case.”
What three things can’t you live without?: “I can’t live without my friends, programming and the ability to create.”
