Cypress Ridge High School Athletes Commit to College Programs on Spring Signing Day 2025

Cypress Ridge High School celebrated an exciting Spring Signing Day on February 5, 2025, as three student-athletes signed letters of intent to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level. These athletes, representing football, baseball, and softball, are set to make a significant impact at their future institutions.

Football Star Signs with Texas A&M-Kingsville

Jarvis Bright, a standout on the Cypress Ridge football team, committed to Texas A&M University at Kingsville, a public research institution with over 6,000 students. The university is known for its strong football tradition and competitive athletics programs.

Baseball Standout Joins Ottawa University

Santos Mercado, a talented baseball player, signed with Ottawa University, a private Christian university in Ottawa, Kansas, with an enrollment of approximately 800 students. The university provides a strong academic and athletic foundation for student-athletes.

Softball Star Heads to Kilgore College

Edelin Barrios, a key player on the Cypress Ridge softball team, committed to Kilgore College, a public community college in Kilgore, Texas, with around 5,000 students. The school offers a highly competitive softball program that will help Barrios develop her skills further.

“We are incredibly proud of these student-athletes for their dedication and hard work,” said Cypress Ridge High School’s athletic director. “They have earned these opportunities, and we are excited to see them thrive at the next level.”

Cypress Ridge High School continues its legacy of developing student-athletes ready for collegiate competition. These commitments highlight the school’s emphasis on both academic and athletic excellence.
