Cypress Mill Residents Reminded of Memorial Day Trash Schedule Changes
As many Cypress Mill families prepare for Memorial Day gatherings, backyard barbecues and time with neighbors, residents are also being encouraged to make a small but important adjustment before the long weekend begins — getting trash out early and planning around a temporary service schedule change.
Because Memorial Day falls on Monday, May 25, there will be no trash or recycling pickup in Cypress Mill that day. Residents are encouraged to place trash out tonight ahead of the adjusted collection schedule to avoid missing service.
According to the community reminder, trash pickup will resume on Thursday, May 28, while normal trash and recycling service is expected to return Monday, June 1.
Holiday schedule changes like these can sometimes catch residents off guard, especially during busy weekends filled with family activities, guests and outdoor celebrations. With extra food waste, party supplies and packaging often piling up during Memorial Day weekend, planning ahead can help keep neighborhoods clean and prevent overflowing bins from sitting curbside longer than expected.
For homeowners in Cypress Mill, staying aware of community service schedules is one of the simple ways neighbors help keep the community looking its best during one of the busiest holiday weekends of the year.
Residents may also want to consider:
- Breaking down cardboard boxes before disposal
- Securing lightweight trash bags in case of windy weather
- Avoiding placing bins curbside too early during the holiday weekend
- Holding overflow recycling items until regular service resumes June 1 if needed
As summer activity begins picking up across Cypress Mill and surrounding Cypress-area neighborhoods, reminders like these help residents stay prepared while keeping the community running smoothly through holiday schedule adjustments.
